3 Alternatives to Your Morning Coffee!

Let’s be honest, especially with our nespresso machines and trends like whipped coffee, it can be so easy to cave into the coffee cravings.

Whether you only drink it once a week, or you have a few cups throughout the day, coffee can be a yummy sweet treat that wakes us up and fills us with joy.  But the effects it has on our mind and body can be long lasting and incredibly hard to kick it to the curb.  You may find yourself feeling more fatigued after each cup, but needing it to get through your day.

The reality is, coffee borrows our energy from the future, increases our anxiety, and can cause a plethora of physical health symptoms such as digestive issues, heartburn, blood pressure, and cause insomnia! (1)

So why do we keep drinking it? You may find it hard to curb the coffee because there aren’t better alternatives.

So today, is your lucky day! I’ve made it easy for you! Below are  3 alternatives to your morning coffee that not only taste great, but have both physical and mental health benefits.

Check them out:

Lemon Water (Hot or Cold):

This one’s simple. Sometimes it’s the sweetness of coffee we crave. Or maybe we just need something warm (or iced!). Throwing a few slices of lemon into water, whether it is hot or iced, can give you just what you need, with great health benefits. While coffee will dehydrate you, lemon water provides you with the hydration you need. It’s a great source of Vitamin C, aids in digestion, improves your skin, and freshens your breath! This is also an easy drink to make throughout the day. All you need is some lemons and water! (2)

Tea:

The great thing about tea is the natural caffeine it can provide. Or you can opt for a non caffeinated tea. The best part is, there are tons of options! Whether you are a fruit lover, or prefer more of an herbal taste. You can add a healthy creamer, some honey, or keep it plain. The options are endless. Herbal teas tend to be caffeine free. If you are looking for a healthier version of caffeine, try out green, black, or white teas! My personal favorite is, matcha. Tea in general can aid in reducing your risk of heart disease, protecting your bones, and are a wonderful source of antioxidants. (3)

MudWTR:

MudWTR is a bit pricier than the first two options, but trust me when I say it’s worth it! MudWTR uses ingredients that have been used for hundred of years to aid in overall health of your body. Mud gives you focus and the natural energy you’re looking for without the crash. The ingredients include masala chai, cacao, reishi, chaga, cordyceps, lion’s mane, turmeric, sea salt, and cinnamon. And if you’re not a mushroom person, not to worry! The taste is similar to a chai from your local coffee shop, without the sugars and sweeteners! (4)

Try one, or all three.  Remember, it can take upwards of 21 days to break a habit and start a new routine.  It may seem challenging at first, but your brain and body will thank you for it! Ready to step out of the fog and away from the jitters, time to switch things up!
